Many of the great destinations in Thailand were discovered by budget travelers, aka back packers. Some beautiful islands of Thailand have not always been featured on travel brochures.

But the luxury seeking tourist can find sumptuous health spas, be chauffeured in limousines, lodge in the world's finest hostelries and be pampered beyond imagination. Thailand boasts at least 10 of the world's finest hotels such as the Oriental in Bangkok and the Amanpuri in Phuket.

And there is the strong middle ground of 3 and 4 star hotels that appeal to the average family tourist. Pleasant and convenient hotel with comfortable rooms, good food and great service are available for the price of a roadside motel in the US.
