Most visitors to Krabi fall into three different categories.
To start with, we see the (usually) European Holiday Makers who come to Thailand for two to
three weeks of which, the first few days will be spent in Bangkok, maybe a few
more in Chiang Mai and the last week relaxing on a beach in the south
somewhere.
These people tend to stay in the higher bracket hotels which come as part
of a package tour.
The second group are the "Go as I Please" travelers who have
a little more time to spare and don't want to be tied down by a particular
tour or company. They
may stay a week or more and in the same hotels as
holiday makers or they may choose the bungalows that
abound.
Their most important criteria is the ability to change and move about
freely.
The final group would be the "Backpacker" brigade. Nowadays,
this is not just a group of longhaired travelers looking for everything
at a discount.
It may even be a little unfair to label some of them this way but the group refers to those who really
have time on their hands and may spends weeks, even months, enjoying the delights of
Krabi, and Thailand in general.
