Railay Bay. This is a promontory
divided into four sections: Railay East and West, Phra Nang Cave Bay (not to be
confused with Ao Nang) and Tonsai.
If you plan to stay there, the
accommodations, ranging from beach bungalows to the rather opulent
Rayawadee Resort, are to be found on either Tonsai or Railay West.
Although the
Railay area is not technically an island, it is accessible only by
boat so it has the appearance and feel of being one. This feel is reflected
in the pace of life
there as well as the friendly nature of the folk who live and work
there.
Railay is a microcosm of Thailand, where everything is made to be
fun and done with a
smile and a courtesy, found in only a few places outside of this part
of the
world!
