Getting to Pattaya

Pattaya From Suvarnabhumi Airport

Official / registered airport minibuses can be booked in the Arrivals Hall after clearing Customs and Immigration. Departures for Pattaya are at 09:00 a.m., 12:00 noon and 19:30 p.m. Journey time is about 2.5 hours and the cost Bt 200.

A taxi can also be hired in the Arrivals Hall or outside the doors to the highway. Do negotiate a price in advance for your destination hotel in Pattaya. The cost will be about Bt 1200 -

1500 plus Bt 120-150 for the motorway tolls. Journey time via the motorway is about 2 hours.

Pattaya From Downtown Bangkok

Comfortable air-conditioned buses leave the Eastern Bus Station (Ekamai) every half hour and take about 2.5 hours to Pattaya. The cost is Bt 90 and your seat has to be booked before boarding the coach.

At busy holiday periods there may be some delay in getting a seat on a bus. Also note some buses are not express, do check first.

Buses for Pattaya also depart from BKK's Northern and North Eastern Bus stations. Some Bangkok travel agencies and hotels also run buses to Pattaya. Prices vary.

Most buses arrive in Pattaya at the bus depot on Pattaya North Road, near Sukhumvit Road. Baht buses (Songtaews) await your custom at the depot for the final leg of your journey. Don't forget to negotiate the fare (less than Bt 100) in advance of boarding for your destination hotel.
