Beaches in Narathiwat

Narithiwat has a great coastline that beach lovers will find uniquely attractive. Too bad the water of Narathiwat isn't as attractive as Pattani and Songkla.

Rock jetties have been constructed to prevent storms from eroding the land along the coast. Strong seas driven by the Southeast Monsoons are not cut off by the land mass of Cambodia and Vietnam so they punish the beached further south.

Narathiwat Accommodations

Hu Tat Thu Wu

An endless strands of golden colored sand that is spacious and usually deserted. A "day" beach with no services but very clean water.

Sadej Beach

This beach is at Tak Bai which is the last town before the Malaysian border. Watch for a sign on route 4084 and go through the fenced area, turn back north for about 2 km. The beach is a private and spacious "day" beach with no services.

Getting T0 Narathiwat

Air: Thai Airways has regular service to Pattani.
Bus: Service to Pattani or Panare, then take a motorcycle taxi to the beaches.
Car: Hu Tat Thu Wu beach is off the coastal route approximately half way between Mai Kaen and Narathiwat. Beaches are off route 4084 southeast of Narathiwat.

Accommodations
Tak Bai Lagoon Resort does not have a beach but is on a large lagoon between the beach and mainland. The resort has air con bungalows at Bt 600 - 800 with TV and hot water; plus an open air restaurant. E-mail tlagoon@cscoms.com, www.takbai.com
