Muay Thai aka Thai Kick Boxing - Watch or Learn
Muay Thai aka Thai Kick Boxing is a world famous martial art. But no one seems to have been able to trace the historic origin. Muay Thai in its early forms was used in battle to supplement the sword and pike.
Muay Thai began as a sport in times of peace. But as in battle, Muay Thai was a deadly sport. Fighters wrapped their hands in hemp or leather thongs and fought with no time limits on rounds. The two warriors simply went at each other in a fury of flashing fists, knees, feet and elbows.
While Thai boxing may have mellowed, it is still a hard nosed style of personal combat and a very popular spectator sport in Thailand. Muay Thai gyms across Thailand accept novices at a very young age.
