White Water Rafting - Kaeng Hin Pheng River in Khao Yai National Park, Thailand

The ride - too bad the best rapid is the first. Hin Peng is a multi-level and the difficulty (4 - 5) depends on the level of the river. But there is plenty of fun left with 4 rapids that are 3 level and each just a bit different.

A walk of about 2.5 km is required to reach the start of the rafting. And the course is pretty much a "rainy season" option.

The lower stretches of the river are also popular for swimming and picnicking.

Note: Kaeng Hin Peng is quite popular and gets crowded. It might be a good idea to contact the tour operators and schedule for non-holiday weekdays.

Most dealers provide accommodations and rafting as a package as well as rafting separately. Expect to pay Bt 800 for rafting and 2 day 1 night packages in the Bt 1,600 range.
