Flying to Pattaya

U Tapao Airport [Rayong] has a web site with flights and schedules.

Transfer from Suvarnabhumi Airport Taxis and limousine service from Bangkok's International Airport is readily available.It's a short drive down a divided toll road.

Air Con Bus Service from Bangkok

buses are scheduled to depart the Eastern (Eckamai) bus station every 30-40 minutes (depending on the information source)from 5:00 am - 11:00 pm. That usually means if they have enough passengers. The trip schedule is 2.2 hours and the cost is Bt 90


It is not very popular, but train lovers may like a ride. The State Railway of Thailand has daily rail service departing Bangkok's Hua Lamphong Station at 6:55 am - Tel 0 2223 7010 or 0 2223 7020. The trip lasts about 3.30 hours.

Driving to Pattaya

Pattaya is about 140 km southeast of Bangkok via the Bangna-Trat road and the Chon Buri Motorway. Driving time will vary from 2 hours up, depending on traffic.

Getting Around Pattaya

Riding Pattaya's "Baht buses"

Actually they are songtaews, pickup trucks equipped with canopies and two seats running the length of the bed. Fares vary with the zone. Basic fare around beach road is Bt 10. Bt 20 to Naklua and Bt 30 to Jomtien.

If you ask the driver to take you directly to a destination, the songtaew becomes a taxi and the fare is subject to negotiation. Always negotiate before boarding as un negotiated fares can be quite creative.

Motorcycle Taxis

These motorcycles are convenient and plentiful around Pattaya. They offer a direct "point-to-point" service. To avoid problems, Negotiate the fare in advance, from about Bt 20 and upwards.
