Scuba Diving - Pattaya, Thailand

Pattaya Scuba Diving Pattaya is not tops on the list for scuba dive sites, but it does offer acceptable diving conditions year round.

Added to that the nearness to Bangkok and the opportunity to spend time in what will soon become the Las Vegas of Thailand and Pattaya a scuba diving destination for beginning and intermediate divers.

A number of dive shops and schools offer day trips to the islands in the Gulf of Thailand off Pattaya Bay. The area has hard and soft coral, numerous species of marine life and shipwrecks. Night dives are available as well.

One shipwreck is vertical, which allows divers to inspect the derelict in water as shallow as 5 meters.

Visibility in the area varies from 6 - 30 meters depending on the month, sea conditions, currents and weather. Currents are usually mild and normal water temperature is 28 degrees C.

Day trips that offer 2 - 3 dives that include rented equipment, dive master and food start at around Bt 3,000.
